Sts. Peter and Paul School, Lexington, is honored to be one of seven groups asked to take part in the Destination Egypt exhibit sponsored by the University of Kentucky Art Museum.
Art teacher Beth Ettensohn has selected the 3rd grade Egyptian columns and the 5th grade Art Mile Mural to be displayed. The Destination Egypt show will be featured at the Downtown Art Center from March 2
0th through April 18. After the show, the 5th grade mural will continue its journey to Egypt to be displayed at the base of a pyramid!
The Art Miles Mural project was created in 1997 in order to teach children understanding and respect. It has spread throughout over 100 countires with the hope of "creating global harmony". The goal was to create a mile of mural that connects children and their visions of a kind world to one another.
The Art Miles "Exhibition of the Century" will take place in 2010 in support of UNESCO's Decade for the Culture of Peace for Children of the World.
